Low House is a unique 17th Century haven of peace and tranquillity one mile from Bowness & Windermere. Start the day with an Aga cooked ‘Healthy English Breakfast’ consisting of only the best locally reared produce. The only thing that is fried are the eggs. Valencia Oranges are freshly squeezed each morning, bread is home baked and jams and marmalades homemade. Porridge, fresh fruit, yoghurt, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs are available along with your hosts own take on a Mediterranean Breakfast. In the Drawing room you can relax and unwind so while staying at Low House select a glass of your choice from the drinks tray or choose an Afternoon Cream Tea and sink into a sofa or armchair, book, newspaper or magazine in hand and relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this charming 17th century home. In the Snug you will find a roaring log stove, a grandfather clock's quarterly chimes, cosy armchairs and complimentary sherry close to hand to make this room essential for unwinding in after a long days enjoyment of the Lake District. Whether you have been hiking, shopping or just enjoying the best food in the North of England, Low House will feel like a welcome home from home. The garden is reputed to be the oldest in Windermere. It offers a charming setting to play croquet in or just to lay back and enjoy the soft mossy lawn. You can also have a look around the kitchen garden, which is slowly being brought back to its former glory. There are also great country walks on the doorstep, with fine Lake District views an easy 20 minutes walk away.
