The
house was built by Newson Garrett, father of feminist pioneers Elizabeth
Garrett Anderson and Millicent Fawcett in 1893. It has a big garden and is
situated in a private road in the quiet and wooded part of Aldeburgh
opposite the town tennis courts and the Bowling Green. The footpath beyond
the front gate leads to the marshes and the river 10 minutes away. In the
other direction Aldeburgh high street and the beach are less than 10
minutes walk. There is ample parking space.
The
accommodation: 2nd floor double bedroom with an attached smaller room with
single sofa/bed. Bathroom access is through the single bedroom. There is
an additional single bed and cot available for families. Great views over
the marshes to the river and beyond.
First
floor twin/double room with views over the garden. Also with an additional
single bed and child's cot available if needed.
Both
rooms have their own modern bathrooms with shower; plus TV, radio, hot
drink facilities and hair dryer..
