Uniquely
situated at the heart of historic Knaresborough, overlooking the river
Nidd, the viaduct and Knaresborough Castle, Gallon House offers award
winning bed and breakfast accommodation and delicious locally sourced
food.
Pre-dating
the railway in Knaresborough, Gallon House dates back to around 1830. The
house is named after the historic stone steps – Gallon Steps-which wrap
around the house, linking the market town to the pretty
waterside.Architecturally the house is eccentric and quirky, tempered with
thoughtfully appointed interiors and calm elegant colours. Our guests are
able to enjoy an oak panelled sitting room with open fire, a beautiful
dining room with French doors opening onto the balcony, overlooking the
Nidd Gorge with spectacular views over the river, viaduct and castle. The
conservatory enables our guests to enjoy the views, what ever the time of
year.
Our
large south facing balcony, always beautifully planted, ensures that
Gallon House receives the best of the sunshine what ever time of the year.
